Drug abuse is a phenomenon that is spreading
rapidly and it poses serious psychological and social problems.
Public opinion has been recently shocked by a
proposal presented in Uruguay to control the use of drugs, but also to
facilitate access to so-called "soft" drugs, in this case marijuana.
In the short space of a few decades drug abuse
has passed from a relatively limited use, to a mass phenomenon affecting young
people especially, destroying lives and which so far no country has succeeded
in reducing.
The implications, merits and economic effects of
legalizing the substance is under debate in every part of the world.
This is my point of view. If marijuana were
legal, it would become cheaper and therefore easier to obtain, especially for
young people. If marijuana were legalized, the black market would exclusively
target young people. When a drug is normalized, it is more difficult to conduct
education and prevention programs, in fact, it is easy to admit for young
people that what is legal is normal and therefore moral.
When your freedom to dope could affect other
people, the drug is no longer safe: i.e.
driving under the influence of marijuana is the second highest cause of
car-related accidents , after incidents caused by driving under the influence
of alcohol.
Instead, these are the arguments advanced in
favour of legalizing drugs. Some hold that the moderate use of certain
substances, classified as "soft drugs", would lead neither to
biochemical dependence nor to physical side-effects.
Others say it would be better to know and assist
drug addicts rather than leave them in a state of illegality, in order to help
them and to protect society.
Others said that legalizing we finally stop
illicit trafficking and money laundering.
Because drug dependence among young people is
due to the weakness of our educational system (Families, School, Church) it is not apparent how the legalization of
these substances promotes greater control of them by young people and, above
all, how could it help them understand what they are seeking through these
substances.
Whether Drugs are illegally purchased or
distributed by the State, they are always harmful to man.
By destroying a young person, drugs destroy the
family, both the family of the present and that of the future.
The legalization of drugs implies the risk of
causing the opposite effect to that sought.
Through the legalization of drugs, it is not the
product that is thereby legalized, but rather the reasons leading to the
consumption of this product that are justified.

I agree in all your consideration. I think that the legalization implies the risk of causing the opposite effect that sought.
